this is unrelated to your story, but i had a question: in the phonetic explanation of your name, why not just compare it to the word "tree"? in my idiolect of english, it is pronounced exactly the same (unless i am misunderstanding you, which is possible).
also, do you get notified when someone comments on these things, or do you just check new posts regularly enough for that to be unnecessary? thanks.
because *I* don't pronounce "tr" like "chr", and the first time I'd heard that some people do pronounce it like that, I didn't like it because I wanted the consonant cluster in my name to be pronounced differently.
I have the recent comments page (linked on my home page) open in a tab and try to check it regularly (if I remember).
